Joel DeCandio is a New York–based actor working in film and theater. He is currently in production on Matteo Cala's Mediterranean feature, Ston aderfó mou, Tyler Rubenfeld's surreal feature, Planets, and Jeremy Max's violent 16 mm psychological drama, Bleeder, produced by Scott Aharoni. He made his film debut starring in Kenya Gillespie's award-winning celluloid tone poem, Give, and his films have screened in competition at BAFTA- and Oscar-qualifying festivals around the world from Aesthetica to Austin Film Festival.
His work in theater includes multiple productions of Cymbeline and A Midsummer Night's Dream, as well as The Tempest, Tennessee Williams' The Rose Tattoo, Twelfth Night at Folger Shakespeare Theatre, Listen to Me with Kathleen Turner, and Antony & Cleopatra with the National Theatre of Ghana and artists from the Ankara State Theatre of Turkey.
His duo show with Bligh Voth, A Sondheim Evening, has sold out on both coasts and is recommended by Time Out.
